The first question anyone will ask when you mention CBD is: what is it? Although, perhaps more likely, this question is exactly why you're here! We have your answer(s), but of course, there is the short answer and there is the long answer. We're going to start with the short answer so you understand the very basics of what CBD is for yourself and how you might best be able to explain it to other people.
The short answer:
CBD is short for cannabidiol, a naturally occurring compound (one of hundreds knows as cannabinoids) found within the cannabis, or hemp, plant. Before we go any further, the answer is 'no, it does not get you high.' We'll explain more down below, but first it's important to know where it comes from. CBD is extracted from the plant as an oil and then used to make a variety of products from lotions and salves to tinctures and softgel capsules. It is even used as an additive to food and beverages, all of which have been reported to have a variety of wellness benefits.
The longer answer:
CBD is where we receive most of the medicinal properties of the cannabis plant which include a reduction of stress and anxiety as well as providing pain relief (just to name a few). As mentioned above, CBD is non-psychoactive; it does not get you high. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), another compound found within the cannabis plant, is psychoactive. By identifying the difference, we are able to benefit from the cannabis plant through CBD without the "high" of THC.
Is CBD safe?
As Bastion Naturals sells CBD, we take this time to acknowledge that it is always best to speak to your physician if you have any questions about the safety of CBD, especially if you are taking any medications, or if you are pregnant or nursing. If you're a pet owner looking to give it to your animal, please consult your veterinarian.
That being said, CBD is a natural product. We began using it because we believed it was safe and we sell it for the same reason. The overwhelmingly positive results that have been posted online can often speak for themselves as we can only speak for ourselves and the benefits that we have experienced from its use within our daily lives. We will let others go on about its safety as there are plenty of testimonials to go around. Each person is different, and it is up to you (and your doctor) to determine what is best for you.
